Outdoor stair railing
Vertical bars running along a staircase beside a stone wall.
Steel railings and handrails for interior and exterior stairs — including stairs that already exist, in concrete, timber or steel.
Most stair railings we make are for stairs that are already built: we measure the pitch, treads and opening, so the railing follows your staircase exactly. Indoors that is usually mild steel with a timber or steel handrail; outdoors galvanised steel or stainless.
We work across Montenegro — Herceg Novi, Kotor, Tivat, Budva, Bar and Podgorica. Measuring is free within 60 km of our workshop in Podi.
The most common choice for interior stairs: clean-looking and safe for children.
Mild steel with an oak or ash handrail matched to the treads.
For exterior stairs and stairs by the sea, where the handrail is touched constantly.
The railing around the slab opening continues from the stairs along the gallery, even when the opening is round.
A handrail on wall brackets, where stairs run along a wall or as a second handrail.
Measured vertically from the tread nosing.
On the level section around the opening — like a terrace railing.
Also between the tread and the bottom of the railing.
Easy to grip; at least 4 cm clear of the wall.
Top-fixed to the treads or side-fixed to the stair edge and stringer. Side fixing keeps the treads clear and full width.
Timber to match the treads, mild steel or Ø 42.4 mm stainless. Timber and stainless feel best in the hand.
Indoors powder coating in any colour; outdoors hot-dip galvanising before coating, or stainless.

The price depends on the shape of the stairs and the build. These things matter most.
Yes, that is our most common job. We measure the stairs on site and make the railing to their exact pitch and treads.
90–100 cm from the tread nosing, and at least 100 cm on a gallery around the opening. Infill gaps up to 12 cm.
Yes. We make the steel railing with a base for an oak or ash handrail matched to your treads.
Yes — see our custom steel stairs. The railing is then made together with the stairs, in the same colour.
For stairs in a house usually one day; the railing arrives finished and painted from the workshop.

By the sea it is the protection that decides, not the thickness of the steel. Before we quote, we ask where the structure will stand and how far it is from the water.
The strongest and cheapest option, but only with galvanising and powder coating. Left unprotected on the coast it rusts within a single season.
For handrails and railings by the sea. AISI 316 where there is salt and spray, 304 for interiors and the inland areas.
Light and rust-free — for lightweight structures and parts that are hard to reach for maintenance.
Immersion in molten zinc protects the inside of the profile as well. Powder coating in your RAL colour goes on top.
